The Greenware Gallery opened its doors in July of 1996, in Belmont, Ontario, under the ownership of Carol Smith. Carol has many years of experience to share with her clients, in decorating & the technical aspects of working with clay. She trained as an instructor with many prominent ceramic companies of our time, especially Duncan University, with whom she eventually became an ambassador, trained to certify others to teach the art of ceramics.
Fred Smith joined the Gallery upon his retirement from the electrical field, and now produces the top quality clay mouldings we call greenware. He also adds his professional touch in the firings of the greenware and glazed pieces left in our capable hands.
The Greenware Gallery was moved to its new location at 17 Starlight Lane, Dorchester, Ontario, in
2009. Working together in a slow and cautious manner, Sarah Beierling (Carol's daughter) and her husband Ray are working closely with Carol and Fred to ensure the future of the Greenware Gallery. In January 2010 the Beierling's became the new owner's of The Greenware Gallery. Carol and Fred have been very patient and knowledgeable teacher's and mentors as the transition continues. They have also been very helpful continuing to help on a part time basis and ensure that customers continue to receive the service and quality they have come accustomed to in the past.
